the story behind this record begins in 2004 on newbury street in boston massachusetts. juice belushi founding member paul foley is dressed head to toe in 80s regalia, including vest, fingerless leather gloves, fedora and chain connecting nose-ring to ear pierce. its like a scene out of michael jacksons bad, minus the dancing. at his feet is a boom box blasting freestyle and 80s electro-funk, hes handing out mix cds. needless to say we were intrigued!

mooch recordings kicks off with the imperial street ep from quenum, the man behind cadenza and a back catalogue of hits across labels crosstown rebels, orac, soma, trapez, to name but a few. his his legendary set back in july cemented his place in the mooch hall of fame and also put him on the radar for the first ever release on the label. quenums hypnotic, groovers on this ep are just right in building up the night, riding through peak time and out the other end down at the afterparty. on remix duties we have invited tim xavier to weave his tech magic and add his signature harder, darker sound to this killer ep.

manic street preachers originally gained a loyal following and cult status with their combination of androgynous glam punk imagery, outspoken invective and songs about alienation, boredom and despair. the bands later albums retained a leftist politicization and intellectual lyrical style, while adopting a broader alternative rock sound, especially after the mysterious disappearance of lyricist and rhythm guitarist richey edwards in 1995. >everything must go< is the manics fourth album and was released in 1996, now back on 180 gram audiophile vinyl.

for this second release the new parisian label street knowledge choose to produce two young native italians djs. peter jd and francys met in a small city in the south of italy, both evolving on the music scene since they are 14. peter is bringing the detroit house music touch whereas francys the 80s 90s music sound. from this collaboration is born the connection ep. where two different worlds find each other in a common space, connection ep brings different ideas of sound at the same time, by one side following a dry techno line with pumping drums and solid grooves, by the other side warmer and deeper, crossing hypnotic detroit flavored synths, chicago house, organic elements and chromatic female vocals. to make this release totally international jenifa mayanja from connecticut and the greek quell are delivering two remixes that should make a bomb effect on all the dance floors.

in 1984, steve perry recorded his debut solo album street talk while his band journey was on a break. a tribute to his former band alien project, the album brought forth the hits >oh sherrie< and >foolish heart< and would eventually receive a double platinum status.

19 rupert street was the house in glasgow where scottish folk singer alex campbell lived and this is where sandy denny recorded these songs. recorded on a home tape machine they showcase denny in a relaxed atmosphere singing with acoustic guitar, and occasionally joined by campbell.
